Upgrade Policy

  • We are pleased to provide you with all minor product upgrades free of charge!

  • An example of a minor upgrade is moving from version 2.x.x to 2.x.x, where the first digit stays unchanged and the "x" digits can be any number from 0-9. A specific minor/free upgrade example: 2.0.1 -> 2.8.4.

  • Major upgrades will be offered at special upgrade pricing. An example of a major upgrade is moving from version 2.x.x to 3.x.x. Major upgrades are not put into place until a significant set of product features and enhancements have been made to the product. You can be sure that your initial investment in the product will benefit from ongoing enhancements, feature additions, and fixes at no additional cost.

Upgrading myDataChameleon

  • Simply download the new version of the product and install. The data file that contains your work remains intact when you install an upgrade. When you first start the new version of the program, you'll be asked if you wish to update your data file. A backup of your data file is made before any process of upgrading it is started.

  • We also recommend, as with any software, that you periodically create backups of your system and software files to protect against loss of data, time, and work. This is generally accepted as good computer system management and safe-computing.
