Source Specifications tell your solutions how to read data from wherever it is coming from. If reading from a database, they include settings for connecting to the database. If reading from a text file, they include instructions to follow when reading in the data.
This screenshot shows a data source specification and its associated details. Here, these windows reveal how a custom-delimited text file should be read in. The Data Container Type selected (on the "Source Specifications" window) dynamically controls the actual detail window that gets used.
